What's it like crafting with friends?
What’s it like crafting with friends?
I think before we even answer that question I need to take you back in time. Years ago I used to do crafting segments on Chabad.org
It was a ton of work, but so rewarding. Kids (and even parents!) would stop me on the street to tell me that their kids loved watching my crafts over and over again. In 2015, My producer at the time moved away and that was the end of my craft show. It was her project and without her, the show couldn’t go on. At the time my focus was on building out my painted glass tabletop business and so I said goodbye to “Abbey of Not 2 Shabbey” and became - Abbey Wolin.
Over the years whenever Facebook would show the memories of those videos in my feed, I would think reminiscently of that time in my life. I never really missed it or felt like I gave up on it until recently. As I’m moving back into “teaching mode” I’m starting to think past what I can offer my community besides business advice. What people love about me is my art. Every time I do a poll asking my followers what they want to see more of, hands down its art. So how can I give them more of that?
The idea of putting together a new crafting show is just starting to formulate in my mind. I’m not sure when it will happen or if it will happen, but I knew that if I was going to do one, I wanted to do it with friends. It’s one thing to have a crazy idea, but to have your friends LOVE your idea is something else. Crafting with friends is 10x’s better then alone
🏻 I honestly wasn’t sure what would happen that day, but the segment really gelled nicely. The best part? When everyone was quiet coloring, I knew they were loving it 🤣 because that’s the sound of creativity!!!
I want to thank @peaslovencarrots @esteezonline @frumeetaubenfeld @yaffapalti for reminding me all the joy I once had in teaching art. Notice, how every one of us lives in different states and countries, but we all miraculously ended up together - because crafting just makes the world a better and happier place ♥️
P.S. That moment Frumee was looking in horror, Danielle was about to laugh, and Annette was just shocked?!? A slightly over-shared an embarrassing story 🤣 Curious what caused those reactions?!? Check out my IGTV video for the video and all the crafting supply details.
